To access your patient’s imaging study online, access the Infinitt portal via the link on the home page.
Our Radiographers and Radiologists have advanced training in their respective fields of interest.
We have high-end imaging equipment available for dedicated studies including 64 and 256 slice CT scanners, as well as 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners with specialized coils.
Useful information for referring practitioners:
REQUEST FORMS:
Kindly send us a referral letter with your patient, indicating the required examination. The forms are available for download under the documentation tab, but can be sent to your practice per request.
MEDICAL AID AUTHORISATION:
Outpatients: Can obtain authorisation by contacting their Medical Aid. Contact us if assistance is required.
In-hospital patient authorisation: Usually arranged by our department.
PREPARATIONS FOR EXAMINATIONS:
Examinations require that the patient should be fasted will include:
- GIT Studies: Barium swallow or barium meal.
- Ultrasound of the upper abdomen
- MRI of the abdomen including MRCP studies
Barium enema, Cardiac CT, CT colonoscopy, MR abdomen, MR pelvic region – please contact the department.
APPOINTMENTS:
We do our utmost to adhere to appointment times, but unplanned emergency cases can, unfortunately, cause delays.
RADIATION AWARENESS:
Our practices adhere to current radiation protocols.
COST OF EXAMINATIONS:
Quotes can be provided via email, per request. Only written quotes are official.
WEIGHT LIMITS:
Weight limits for CT or MR scans: If patient > 150 kg, kindly contact the department.
INTERVENTION RADIOLOGY:
The Interventional department functions separately from our main imaging department.

Important information we require:
MRI CHECKLIST:
There is an extensive checklist of previous procedures and implants as well as devices we need to know of, including:
- Cardiac pacemakers or residual electrodes
- Cardiac valve prosthesis
- Metallic foreign objects, especially in the eyes
- Neurostimulator devices
- Cochlear implants
- Certain cerebral artery aneurysm clips
- Certain cardiac stents
- Hearing aids
This will be checked by our staff as well.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO OBTAIN FROM THE PATIENT, PRIOR TO ATTENDANCE (IF POSSIBLE):
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Iodine allergy
- Renal failure
- Thyroid disease: Thyrotoxicosis
- Asthma history
- Any other allergies
- Known or suspected pheochromocytoma
- Diabetes Mellitus and use of Metformin
- Use of blood-thinning agents. May need discontinuation depending on planned examination or procedure.
